- First you must take the ENGLISH WRITTEN EXAM: This test evaluates your English proficiency, basic grammar and some court terminology and procedures.
- Only AFTER you pass the English Written Exam will you be allowed to register for the Oral Exam. This final test is in person and will test your skills as an interpreter in all three modes (Sight, Consecutive and Simultaneous.)

Must know: THE AVERAGE PASSING RATE FOR THE STATE ORAL EXAM IS ONLY 15% FOR FIRST TIME TAKERS.
This is due to lack of training and little knowledge of interpretation. Even if you have a background working as an interpreter but have never been tested, your chances of passing the exam the first time are still slim. This is because MOST working interpreters are not able to objectively asses their performance.
This course was created to help better your chances of passing the state exam the FIRST time while building your current skills through specific methods and practice exercises.
If its your first time taking the state exam: Take this course.
If you are a working interpreter that is looking to become certified: Take this course.
If you’ve failed before: Take this course.
