You’ve passed the Federal Written Exam, Congratulations!
Now it’s time to begin your studies towards the final stage of your Federal Certification: The Oral Exam!
We’ve designed a special 3 part series to help you get prepped and ready for this important step in your interpreter Career. This class is for Advanced Spanish speaking, State Certified Interpreters who have successfully passed the FCICE Written Exam.
This special series is divided as follows:
Part 1: Test Taking Techniques and Terminology
Test taking techniques, working through nerves, and building confidence. Students will be asked to participate in class exercises and “think like scientists,” categorizing and identifying patterns in their errors, and learning to correct them. Two weeks of this section will be devoted to specific terminology and topics that may appear on the federal exam, including DNA, fingerprints, wills, etc. Students will be asked to spend some time between classes conducting research for presentations. Students will gain first-hand knowledge of specialized topics, building, understanding and improving accuracy.

Part 2: All About Consecutive
Tuesday and Thursdays: July 27th, August 1st, and 3rd From 8:00 PM ET – 9:30 PM ET
Part 3: Advanced Sight and Simultaneous
Tuesday and Thursdays: August 8th, 10th and 15th From 8:00 PM ET -9:30 PM ET
A MANDATORY ORIENTATION WILL TAKE PLACE JULY 17th STARTING AT 8:00 PM ET
Federal Oral Exam Prep: 3 Part Special Event!
Online through a user friendly meeting portal called Zoom. You will receive sign ins and passwords after registration and also the class will go over detailed instructions on how to use this service during orientation.

A frequent speaker nationwide on the criminal procedure reforms that have swept Latin America, a former staff interpreter with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and federal exam rater, she is currently working as a freelancer from her home base in Miami.
